Man how much did you get for that thing? Looks like the car came with $10k+ already in it which means you can have a lot of fun with it...I would've personally started with a stock talon so you have time to get used to the car and you would understand the car better...but if you're that anxious for a super fast street car, your choice was a good one :thumb:

btw:
1. Greddy Turbo Timer - keeps your car running for a few extra minutes after your done driving to cool down the turbo

2. apexi safc- its a tuning device; used for controlling your air/fuel ratio...usually used when you have upgraded fuel components (which you do)

can someone put this in laymans terms? im especially interested in what the turbo controllers do, the greddy and the Apex-I S-AFC...i get the feelign i bit off more then i can chew

I would just talk to the previous owner as much as you can. Get him to take you for a ride to explain how everything works. Get him to explain what your gauges should read. I was in the same situation your are in about a month ago. Also, make sure he give you the correct safc setting for street and strip use.

And make sure you spend alot of time reading threads on this site.

hey your in ohio, if its close enough you could head over to buschur racing and have them help you out with any questions. they are located in wakeman, oh. or find some dsmrs in your area.

Thanks for the replys guys...It would have been nice to start from the ground up and do the mods myself, but the deal i got on this car i just couldnt pass up..and it sounds like i am going to have enough to learn just to keep this car on the road

To tell you the truth, there is not a lot you have to learn to keep these cars on the road. When you make seriouse HP then things will fail more often, and when you beat the hell out of your 250-275 HP car thinking it is the same as a 700 HP dragster you will get the same outcome. Basicly as long as you keep the fluids new and changed when they are supposed to and take care of your car you will be fine.

Congradulations on the new car and if you have anymore questions please feel free to post. there are plenty of sections here that can and will help you. and if you have a quick question use the search feature and im sure you will find pages of threads about the question you want to ask.

8500 was the butchers bill for me... a little more then i was lookign to spend but even with my limited knowledge on these cars i coudl tell there was alot more invested then that

yes, its awd...has 135000 on it but the guy who sold it to me says that all major internals have been replaced less then 10k ago....i was a little hesitant to buy a vehicle with so many miles on it..but i am buying htis thing as a project/weekend fun car...and i assuem that if everything blows apart on me 10000 miles from now i can just find a new engine for it ( assuming someone makes new engines for these)
