something wierd happened today with my abs

So I get in my car today 95 TSI and I see the abs light is on, so I was a little confused I pulled over turned on and off the car and it was still there. So 8 hours later after work I turn on my car and it's off. What do you guys think? Ever happen to you?

Does the ABS still work with the light off? Maybe the bulb just burnt out.

On my old GST the ABS light would come on after awhile of driving. Then, after being parked for awhile and restarted, would no longer be on. After some driving it came back on. My ABS didn't work (the brakes locked up when applied hard). I never found out why the light would come on once in awhile. I ended up removing it since it didn't work and I wasn't going to waste money fixing it.
