Ok, i bought my damn TSI, and I loved it, until about a week later, when the problems started. This time its the clutch slave cylinder. I replaced it because my car wouldnt shift into gear while driving, and the clutch pedal got stiffer than usual. Well, now after the new cylinder is in, the pedal is too light, and I bled the crap out of it, and it now is worse. It upshifts, but a little rough, and the same while I'm downshifting, it sometimes will grind. Then, when i come to a complete stop, and its in first, and I have the pedal all the way to the floor, it makes this weird noise, almost like a bad powersteering pump noise, and it jerks, like the clutch is grabbing. When I'm at a complete stop, and im in neutral, it wont go into gear unless I turn the car off then put it into gear. What the hell is going on, I need answers so I have a car to drive, PLEASE, thanks.

ok, re-bled the system, it didnt work, the car wont go into any gears while not moving and the car is running, if I try to put it in gear with the clutch depressed all the way, it starts to grind, every gear, now what could it be, why would it be the pedal itself if it was fine before, I shouldnt have to adjust the pedal.

Have you checked your shifter cables? They usually go out on the tranny end, but I'd check both ends, just a part of trouble shooting step I'd take since you've played with the hydraulics end of it already :thumb:

I wouldn't know why it would go out of adjustment on its own, but I know that it is possible. Your really going to want to get under there and start trying to adjust it before you do any more driving, otherwise your going to be destroying your synchros. How is the "power steering pump" noise doing? Is it gone? Does it come anytime you have the clutch depressed?

Im not driving my car anywhere, I do not want to break it any more than it already is, and I cant even get it into gear, unless the car is off, I can only shift when the car is off, and the power steering noise is still there. I dont know what it is, I dont want to buy a master cylinder, replace it, then still have a problem, and have to spend more $$$ to have someone fix it. I have to give it to someone to fix, I dont know what to do or whats wrong, Im seriously low on $$, and since I dont know anyone out here who can help me diagnose or work on my car with me, Im just gonna give it to a shop, I have no other choice.
Also, I dont know if this matters, but the slave cylinder seems to engage the fork fully when the clutch is depressed, but Im not sure how far it should push it, so I really cant tell.

Did you try adjusting it yet? You've got nothing to lose by trying it, other than about 20 minutes.

i literally had the exact same problems as you about 3 weeks ago, my master and slave cylinders were both bad, and my TOB was in about 15 pieces, once i got slave and master replaced along with a new clutch i feel like im driving a new talon.......i highly recommend it :thumb:

Ya, maybe Ill try replacing the master cylinder, then giving it to someone to replace the clutch too, well, nows a good time to get a ACT 2100:D

haha thats what i had when the TOB blew up....the pedal is pretty stiff, your left leg will be more buff... if u dont care then get it LOL....now i have a spec stg 3 and i love it, the pedal is so soft compared to the 2600 and it was a good 50-70 bucks cheaper, defin. same performance level

my bad , you said 2100...i still think the pedal is softer on the spec than the 2100

Ya, my friend has a 2100 in his talon, the pedal is crazy stiff, but I love it, and want one anyway, Im gonna stick with ACT, I havent heard anything bad about them and they have a good rep.

Ok, remember that wierd power steering pump sound that I was hearing only when my clutch pedal was completely to the floor?? It might be the clutch disk, once thats in, I will post and let you all know if that fixes it, its kind of a good thing, cause now I get to put in a ACT 2100 clutch kit. :D

Ok, finally got it apart, the clutch disk hub was loose, and one of the springs was vertical, so it indeed was my clutch disk, my TOB was actually fine.
