I bought a car that I'm going to use as a DD its a 99 GS, I'm not building it to be fast or quick just get decent fuel mileage(My current DD gets about 8mpg average) and be reliable.

I originally was going to take it back to stock and just drive it but the more I clean crap up my car modding bug is taking over.

The car had a Hahn Stage 2 kit on it when I bought it, most of the stuff is in great shape, just had to clean it all up, the car was supposedly ran out of oil, no proof either way of what happened to the engine, cause I haven't even taken it out yet.

Would I risk any of it reliability slapping the kit back on my junk yard motor when I get it. (I'm going to give it a compression test before I buy it and make sure all is good with it)

At what PSI should I call it good? I keep reading 8psi but I cold care less if this car is fast really, I just need to make sure it stays on the road everyday.

As far as my eye can see it has a FMU, all the piping, manifold, oil lines, A little black box with to wires tied into the sensor at the left end of the intake manifold(I'm assuming that's the FCD) and some gauges(Boost, Oil pressure, and Air-Fuel(Id ditch the A-F and run a wideband, I'm not a fan of useless light shows)).

I'm just really needing to find out exact answers, before I sell the kit. And If I sell it or don't run it I'm missing something to take off somewhere.

Thanks for the help,
James

you said dd not wanna be race car. DO what ^ said plus on a stage 2 i don't see the 420 giving decent MPG. Take that off sell it and clean the car up. all stock the car gets about 320-340MPT depending on driving i get around 330 to a tank and that is with 152xxx miles on the clock. don't ruin a DD your going to be in for more then you asked for. :thumb:

If the kit was installed properly, it shouldn't really lead to any unreliability or poor gas mileage. You should be able to boost 5-8psi without any problems or additional maintenance. The only added cost to consider is premium versus regular gas.

Otherwise, if you are to sell the kit, I'd recommend the basic intake, headers, exhaust, and UDP modifications.

If that engine WAS run out of oil, then that turbo could easily be trash as well. Turbos don't take kindly to running without oil.
