Some help please?

That is an upper control arm assembly. You can just replace the ball joint. Why did you have to cut the stud on the joint?

I've never replaced a balljoint on an eclipse but on galants. I wouldn't say it's going to be any harder to replace. Maybe I'm just backwoods but I would check for a snap ring then just press it through the bottom or hammer the sumbitch. I always leave the control arm on the car though.

Keep in mind everyone does things differently. I've replaced about 20 this way and never had a problem. That being said I'm a bit hillbilly

I replaced both of mines after i installed my rebuilt tranny back in may. Dont waste your time pressing the old balljoint out just go to rockauto and get a whole new one. Plus i had to cut my old one out due to a stripped nut.
