Ok this convo may sound stupid and it very may have the answer in it. But I love to hear others feedback with they're experiences. Thanks :)

Elemental Wind X: hey any idea why my water was boiling on my way to va in my return thing?
Racer4g63: hmmmm
Racer4g63: thats not a good thing
Racer4g63: blown hg
Elemental Wind X: and when i got ot va my water return thing was completely dry
Racer4g63: was it flowing over
Racer4g63: /
Elemental Wind X: i cant tell
Elemental Wind X: i didnt think it was
Racer4g63: it may be a blown head gasket
Elemental Wind X: ermmm :-\
Elemental Wind X: now that i know i'd HAVE to pay someone to fix
Elemental Wind X: heh
Elemental Wind X: I wont even bother to try tackling that
Racer4g63: it is easier
Elemental Wind X: r u serious?
Racer4g63: just move stuff to remove
Elemental Wind X: dont u gotta remove the whole head?
Racer4g63: yep
Elemental Wind X: *sigh* heh
Elemental Wind X: its done this off and on since ive bought the car tho
Elemental Wind X: thats been over a year
Elemental Wind X: dont u think it would have busted by now?
Elemental Wind X: hi?
Racer4g63: that is weird then
Racer4g63: should have blown by now
Racer4g63: I would think
Elemental Wind X: there is never any oil in the radiator, and my water temp never got up to 230deg
Racer4g63: hmmm
Racer4g63: just boiling
Racer4g63: and then empty
Elemental Wind X: with the new o2 my motor never knocks past 3deg, and its only done that a couple times while the motor was cold and i was not boosting.
Racer4g63: that is strange
Elemental Wind X: blown hg is the only think you'd think right?
Racer4g63: when that happens on a 1g its normally the hg
Racer4g63: boiling over
Racer4g63: coming out the overflow
Elemental Wind X: yea ive seen it comin out the overflow once b4. it did that for like a week straight
Elemental Wind X: but i may haev been over fillin it
Elemental Wind X: heh
Elemental Wind X: lee thinks becaues I did not fill the radiator while the car was running it could have sucked it all up?
Racer4g63: thats true to
Racer4g63: too
Elemental Wind X: but the whole thing?
Racer4g63: but boiling int the overflow?
Elemental Wind X: and the boiling?
Elemental Wind X: heh\
Racer4g63: yeah thats what is strange
Elemental Wind X: its just water tho. 100% water
Elemental Wind X: i have no coolant around to use
Racer4g63: you need to put some coolant in it
Racer4g63: higher boiling point
Elemental Wind X: i also think thats a reason
Racer4g63: probably

List of things to check:

- Thermostat
- Radiator cap (important)
- Bleed (burp) the cooling system to remove all air

Definitely check the above. Don't just rule the headgasket as the problem, since most likely it's not. I say stuck thermostat.

Flush the coolant and put a good 50/50 mixture of coolant and water in. If the water to coolant ratio is too high, the boiling point will be significantly lower than it should be. If that doesn't fix it, my next guess would be the radiator cap isn't putting enough pressure on the coolant. I don't think it's the thermostat tho. If it's stuck close, it would overheat, and if it was stuck open, it would take forever to heat up.

How do you bleed or burp a cooling system? And where is the thermostat on my car and what part of that would cause this problem?

Thank you guys for the very informative repsonses because the only other thing I could think of was the mixture or the radiator cap.

Start the car with the radiator cap off. Once the fan turns on put the radiator cap on. Be sure to keep an eye on the coolant level while the car is warming up and add as necessary.

Its best you get a service manual for your car if you plan on working on it frequently.

I did that earlier tonight before I read this and didnt know it was termed burping the system, hopfully it will correct this problem. :) BTW I have the DSM Manual CD, I have read it quite a bit, with plenty more left to read.
