well i have a bit of a problem, when i am driving normaly shifting is fine but once i go under boost and gun the car, i go to shift and i cant get into the next gear,be it 2nd ,3rd, or 4th, then the shifter gets mushy. i then have to pump the cluch like 4 or 5 times and every thing is fine. I have already tried bleeding the clutch, no air in the lines. my shift linkage is going out( the boot ripped and the cable is a bit bent but as i said before, it shifts fine under normal driving. what may be the problem, I do have a chiped ecu with dsmlink but have not hade it tuned as of yet. some suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Do you have an aftermarket clutch if you do did u get the extended slave rod that could be a problem

without actually feeling it myself i would say its either that maybe your cables have stretched or bushings worn.

It doesnt matter if you are so far out of tune that the car does not even turn on it will always shift as long as the tranny is setup right.

possiblities
1) stretched cables
2) bushings on cables bad
3) slave rod if there is a new clutch
4) worn clutch because it does have to handle more power under boost. but highly unlikely because it would have goten progressively worse to the point were it sucked all of the time.

i do have an aftermarket satage 4 clutch and all those components are fine, ur suggestion about the cables seems to be where i need to head towards first, i will be looking for a new linkage tomorrow hoopefully they dont cost too much.

shifts fine at low RPM but not at high?

Sounds like one of two possibilities.

1) clutch isn't on right- one of my buddies had the pressure plate on his 2600 back off, and it was causing him no pain most of the time, but at the track, his second gear shift was obscenely difficult. Fixed that problem, and shifts like butter.

2) synchros are toast- this is a possibility, but expensive, and difficult to check.

Honestly, if you're POSITIVE that your clutch is good, how long has it been since your tranny fluid has been changed? What are you running for fluid in it?

My car shifts like nasty when it has old worn out fluid- in fact I am changing the fluid in the galant this week. Since both my cars are slow (evo3 & 14b) I run 1qt of Redline MTL & 2qt of Redline MT90 in the gearbox. Always feels way better.

well the tranny oil is 5 yrs old, hasnt been changed, that car sat for those 5 yrs and when i put the tranny in it had like 200 miles on it. i will have to recheck the clutch/ plate just to be safe. thanks for all the suggestions so far.

well

i talked to a couple of my buddies, one a Honda enthusiast and the other a dsmer, they both said it is the pressure plate going out. so that will be my next project heh...

Well it looks like i may have fixed the problem, the slave cylinder oil line broke from the slave cylinder, i fixed it but only had one bolt holding the cylinder in place, so after i fixed it and bled the clutch, the other side of the cylinder broke, so i had to replace the cylinder too, now no more problem
