so I think I found out why cylinder 2 had no compression

Brothers car lost compression on cylinder 2 a while back. Too expensive too fix, so we are parting it out. Finally got the head off today and look what I found. What would cause this? Car ran great with 200k kilometers on it, even made great boost running on 3 cylinders.

Running too hot and too lean will do that.

can you see all the detonation? When metal gets all splotchy like that it means that pieces of it have been blown away due to pre-ignition. Bummer dude.

Also note that the car was driven around 20 miles while running on 3 cylinders and that may cause things to look a little weird. Oh well though, fun learning experience pulling it all apart.

ouch man. i'll be pulling mine apart to check it out later on this week. i lost 2/3 cylinder when i replaced the water pump only drove less than a mile tho. but we'll see

compression test was 115-50-125-120 so we'll see
