alright guys or gals, I've had this secret project goin on for a couple months now. I bought a 95 talon tsi awd 100% completely stock!
The car had been sitting with a broken timing belt and bent valves for a couple years when I got to it. So I did everything to get it running, just got it running last weekend and it runs good! I left everything completely stock for now till I get all the kinks worked out and get the car running 100%. So tonight I was doing some work to the fuel sending unit, get the car started right up, let it get to operating temps, check over the motor, bolt up the exhaust, do some other little things, clamp down the intake piping and all that. Go to start the car again, fires right up, I go to turn the headlight switch on so I can see the dash lights and then everything turned off at once. As soon as I pulled the key out of the ignition though, I got interior lights and the open door light on the dash. Nothing else though... I checked the battery, everything's connected securely. The interior lights all work, the "open door" light on the dash works, but when I turn the key to the on position, nothing happens. no clicks no sounds no nothing.
I checked all the fuses, nothing seems to be bad. Am I overlooking something? I was so close to taking it on a test drive this week too...
