on my 96 gsx, i turned on the dash lights, smoke came out, and then they stopped working. the cluster itself still works but there is no illumination in it.
i took apart the steering wheel console and figured out the connector on the left, where you actually twist the knob to turn on the lights, is the one which controls the beep when you leave the door open with the lights still on. im assuming this is the one which also may have burned and is causing my problem.

does anyone know which color wire is the wire which sends voltage to the cluster?

thanx

edit:: i already checked all the wiring, is there any way to check the cluster itself? in or out the car?
