I just finished replacing my blown turbo and I now have smoke coming from where my manifold and turbo meet. I realized that I used a liquid gasket sealant along with replacing the metal gasket that connects the turbo to the manifold :banghead: Is that the source of my smoke? I let the car idle for 10-15 minutes it did not overheat or leak anything but I'm still a little nervous about taking it out. Any suggestions? Will it just burn out over time?

If you didn't use a high temp. silicone very likely, also likely that its burning off what got squished on the inside of the manifold. I would make sure there is no smoke coming out of the exhaust. I know when I replaced mine it smoked all over from spilled coolant and oil in the intercooler, from the old turbo. went away after about 10min of driving.

I have yet to drive it yet, I didn't want to run any risk seeing that I was unsure if the smoke would have any negative effects on my engine. Any suggestions?

Permatex no1 I believe I'll double check tomorrow when I get back to it to double check.

Its either the sealent or old oil still burnging out of the exhaust. Typically when you have a turbo totally blow out an oil seal there is alot of oil still hiding in the exhaust system. I would make sure you have no leaks and then take it for a drive. Put about 20 miles on it and you should be good. :)
