ok when i am driving my car with open windows i start smelling gas which i guess its coming from under the car becouse when i stop my car i was smelling gass from under the back fenders.
so what to check i know the fuel line are under the car but how to check them

i am with stock exhaust system

this happened to me. had a large emissions leak and failed inspection. there is a little metal cover that shields the gas tank filler neck and under it there is a little metal line and dirt and stuff gets under and rots the line. so take that little plate off and check the line to see if it is rotted or cracking. just gotta clean it up and replace it

With the car running try to lay under the car and take a look to see if you can see/smell where exactly it is coming from. Could be your filler neck, fuel line, or evap line. You're just going to have to track it down.

filler neck would be my guess. In addition to those above suggestions, you could also check the ring around the fuel pump unit. Even tho the unit might be "in car", the fuel tank is sitting outside the car

ok i check and is not the filler neck.
so i check around the fuel pump and the houses seems to me good i cant see any leak..but when i start my car and drive with open metal plate of the fuel pump i smell that is coming from this area but cant see nothing
What else can be?the smell is coming from this area

are you running rich? when you drive the car, dose if feel a bit off? have you checked the fuel pressure?

If I'm not mistaken there's a gasket that seals the pump unit to the tank so fuel and vapor won't come out. Perhaps that has gone bad? I could be wrong but it would make sense that it's there.

I know I am a Ford guy, on a DSM board, but I had the oddest thing happen, I was smelling gas from under my Turbo Ranger, and white fuems of gas when I tried to start it.... it turns out thet the diaphram in my AFPR has torn and was dumping fuel into the intake...

So what I would say is take a look at the vac hose on the FPR.. you may have the same issue I did

ok. i remove my gas tank and change the one small hose and check evretyning seems to be good .

So if i am runing rich will i smell fresh gas and can the small crack on the manifold to be a problem?
its not so small and the pictures are from abouth 3-4 months
