Hi all.. I've recently purchased two Holset turbos, last semester I ran into a money situation and had to sell my HX35. I wanted a faster spooling turbo any way, so this time around I bought a Holset H1C which has a 10cm^2 housing, and the really strange thing is that the compressor looks like a T3.

So my question is, how much power can the smallest H1C flow? I couldn't really find any threads showing this turbo.. here's a pic to show how tiny the compressor is compared to the big T4 sized compressor on the HX35/big H1C/etc.

Oh, and here's the HY35 I snagged as well.. the compressor looks more like my HX35 did with a smaller exhaust. I paid a lot more for this one, so I'm trying to decide if I should just go with the small h1c, hence the point of this thread. I really need to read some tutorials on compressor map reading.

If you could measure the compressor wheel inducer, it would reveal alot more of its flow capasity, if non of the members recognize it from the picture.

Here is a good primer on reading compressor maps

Stealth 316 - Turbocharger Compressor Flow Maps

If you want a GREAT book on Turbo charging you can pick up "Maximum Boost by Corky Bell" It is a GREAT book. IT can be read and understood by the novice, yet it has enough to even teach many veterans. Corky has been a true authority on turbo charging!
