Holset h1c hitting against block

i bolted my h1c up to my manifold today and when i went to put it on the car the exhaust housing is hitting off the "bubble" on the block.

my funds are compelety gone, i've gone very deep into this project and i just want something to go right.


any help?

Need a little more info on what turbine housing and manifold you are using. I know a few years back when I ran an hx35 with bolt-on housing and 2g manifold, all I needed to do was dent the water pipe a bit.
They sell 1/2" spacers for between the manifold and head

its a small h1c and a sbr cast t3 manifold. its hitting off the block not the waterpipe

I had the same issue with my Big H1C. I had a buddy of mine cut and reweld the t3 flange at more of a angle to clear the block.

I can read, just giving an example.
You may have to use either the spacer from head/manifold, or have your manifold modified or purchase a different one.
How much more clearance do you need you think?

if its not that much clearence just get a new head flange and get it welded on the manifold

i think i only need like an 1/8" to a 1/4"


wheres the best place to get the flange?

I bet you could buy a complete ebay mani for the price of a spacer. Just cut the mani apart and use the flange. Then you have a bunch of bends to use for wg dumps. Plus you have an extra T3 flange.

what if i got a stock manifold. cut the tubes off and welded it to my current one?

Go to road race engineering and get a head flange, it'll space it out enough to clear.

That ebay head flange is as cheap as you'll find one I bet. Only thing I'd be worried about is the flatness of the piece.
