All the problems seem to be on awd cars. I think it must be traction is hard on the clutch/springs.

I noticed that too but I have launched mine maybe 5 times since my last clutch and drove it around for a few thousand miles like a grandma and it broke. I think there's more to it than that.

Heck i installed on in a buddies car too and he is 10% harder on his car then i am on mine. This kid launches his car atleast twice a day, and it still is holding strong!.

haha...Yea that was a good time wasn't it Ry...I aint that hard on the car...U know what i mean !! But yea...You've had the worst luck with clutches and you baby your car!!

OK well I received my SBR disk TODAY!...

The car is all back togeather as of last Saturday. I Installed a ACT street disk in place of my waiting to arrive SBR 3500 disk. The ACT disk and the SBR pressure plate is not the worst combination. It tends to chatter a little, but it should go away when its all broken in. The ACT disk is way grabbier then the SBR disk as well.

So my total rental car bill was 660 bucks!! Plus 177 for the ACT disk, Mitsu TOB, and downpipe gasket. I think this had to be the worlds most expensice DSM clutch job....

Yeah man, too bad you had to get a rental. Instead of a beater I'm thinking of getting a motorcycle for backup.

Anyway...somebody should definately start a thread about fastening the springs to the disk. I would, but every time I start a thread it gets like, 2 replies.

They don't just pop out all the time. My first disc broke the springs and then they came out. You could safety wire the springs in I guess that might work.

Yeah it's an oldie, but still pretty relevant. You aren't the only one with bad SBR clutch luck! Linky. That thread however mysteriously closed itself

Back from the dead again, cause I'm looking at the SBR 400 and this was the only thread I could find.. :/
