Ya, I know only the bare minimum about cars, i have a 95 eclipse GSX that i bought a few months ago and so far ive had to replace the Starterswitch and a fix a few oil leakes, and somethings wrong with the Auto Trans, not sure wut just that the Over Drive gear doesnt work at it, and other than that, thats all i know is/was wrong with the car.

Now the question is, my first gear take off is pathetic, i dont think theres a car out there right now id beat in take off. I can throw it into first, second, power brake, but when i push in on the gas it just creeps, peeling out isnt an option. The car is all stock except for a N1 apexi exhaust system and some type of Aftermarket Header. I raced a 92 Mazda MX3 the other day which has about 88 HP compared to my around 220, and i didnt catch up with him until mid way throw second gear. Now if we start the race at around 10-20 mph or over, car is extremely fast, but from 0 no chance.

Was just wondering what you guys thought could be causing this problem and perhaps what steps i could take into fixing the situation, thanks.

Since you have an auto you have a few things to learn and modify. One a shift kit, similar to what muscle cars get. Second a high stall converter. If you push the brake and try to rev it up the car isn't going to hold at very much rpm and start to roll. Get a high stall converter like 4K and you can hold the car and build up the rpm better and get a much better launch. Do a search for A/T transmission upgrades it should lead you to some sites, I don't have one but a name I hear a lot of IPT or something, check that out.

Overdrive doesn't work... that means your end clutches are fried. You can order a set of end clutches and put them in yourself, and they are pretty cheap. I believe there is a VFAQ on doing it.
