ive put my gst to the side lately b/c of the weather and trying to build my stock car . .

what ive done -
got my gasket set
bought some copper spray
drilled out the thing that holds my spare tire

(tryed) mounting my side skirts
(is there anyhting special to putting the main seals in?)
took my pistons to my engine builder and he is swapping my rods over for me.
did some re-wiring and relocated my fusebox
ran my wires for the battery relocation

am still having problems figuring my dsm link out,
i took the ecu out to verify it had the dsm link.
it did sure enough, so now im not sure of how i connect it to my laptop?
do i order that cord from ecm link?
so confused help?

Just a word of caution since you are from Indiana.... when it gets really cold (I live in Michigan) sometimes its harder for my car to start (one time i needed to jump it). Simply because the strength when you go to turn it on isnt the same because the current needs to travel father now thru the wire.

ok what you need is the software for that car. Does not matter which version even tho the newest version is probably your best bet IMO. You can download it off ecmlink. Whenever you do install the software and then install the drivers for the data cable (the one with the ecm link squarish logo and the green indicator/status light on it) after you install the software and the drivers and the cable is connected correctly, fire up the computer/laptop plug in the USB cable let it recognize the hardware and drivers/you plugged it in then turn your car either on or to the accessory mode then open up link in the computer select the type 1g 2g etc.. then click connect ecu youll see it loading up at the bottom of the screen VIOLA. Might have described too much/not enough just let me know if you still cant figure it out after this.

thank you alot!
ive already downloaded the program and played around with it a bit. but where would i plug up the cord connecting my usb cord to? does that go into the obd port?

Yes, it goes into the OBDII port.

How long did it take you to relocate the fuse box and where did you move it to?

well its not exactly done yet, i havent finished the wiring bc i dont have the motor in. . but i moved it right under its stocl location. its under the fender. bc i didnt move it that far i dont think alot of wiring will be ahead of me so its a relief, i was considering moving it into the cockpit, but that was alot of wiring and just didnt sound worth it
