I'm posting this for a friend seeing as I have no knowledge of how auto trannies work. His car is a '94 automatic 2.0 talon. A few months ago his tranny started acting up as in he lost his OD and his tranny would slip. He had it towed home one day after it would not move in any gear and upon putting it on the tow truck, we noticed some tranny fluid leaking out.

Just today, we got a quart of tranny fluid with some stop leak stuff and dumped it in b/c he was a little low. The transmission fluid color was a brownish, not like it should be. Now before we put these 2 things in, his car would start but would not move in any gear. After we put the fluids in, his car will now move but he has to get the rpm's up high like around 4k to even move the car. This is in reverse, drive, etc...is this a slipping TQ? Any suggestions will help alot seeing as I have no idea about auto transmissions.

I did search through all 10 pages on the automatic forum but w/o any success.

my car did the same thing. i drove like 3 hours around houston one day looking for some dumba$$ kid w/ a turbo. Long story short... houston highways suck in some areas plus my car is lowered 2''. I hit my Tranny Pan on a dip in the highway. Knocked that motha loose, and by the time i got home almost all my fluid was gone.

so check that out...
