Hi, i've just bought a 97 Spyder GS Auto Shifting is perfect under normal acceleration. However, when I give it tons of gas or WOT 2-3 slip about 1-200 rpms, not much. Ive had a car that that was normal, but should I expect that on this tranny? It has 114k. I changed the fluid earlier, found no metal shavings and the fluid was fresh and the filter has been changed before.

Is it normal? Anything to worry about such as just take it pure easy? Sometimes you just have to use the power, but I dont want to irritate the problem, if it even is one.

a seal may have a slight tear causing a small flare up, if the fluid looked good before you got it then they were probly covering something up...or they were actually up on their manitenance

What seals have the possibility of causing that? I believe the fluid had been in the for awhile, as the gasket had a slight tear in it and didnt look too new. I'm hoping they were up on there maintenance.

Is my hammering on the car and getting that little slip gonna make it worse? I can drive under normal conditions and get no slips and smooth shifts.

Spyder, if you have any auto transmission shops or any good garages you trust around your area, take it in and have a transmission flush done, i bet that could fix it. Because you dont know if the previous owners were up on their maitenence or not. So chances are the transmissions valve body, or valve body check balls, have a lil gunk in them. Its work a try, because a transmission flush isn't too much anyway.
