im sorry if i posted in the wrong area i checked before i posted and this seemed where it would be logical but i may be wrong sorry in advance tho

well my dilemma is my signal hazard and my brake light are not working my taillights turn on when the turn on my headlights but when i step on the brake no stop light brightens and as for my turn signals they dont work not even in the cluster nor do my hazards they went on for a split second and bam no more i checked the fuses and they were blown but when i replaced them same thing only a split second and they dont work again the fuses keep blowing only for those specific fuses tho (stop lamp , Turn Signal, Hazard *hazard only blows if i engage it* im at a complete blank but if anyone has any sort of idea what may be going on would reallly really help ive hit a blank with no solution because its only those three and i thought it may be the fuse box in the engine bay but its also affecting that one fuse in the fuse box in the interior as well

please help tuners!

cars a 5 speed 96 rs if that information is needed

Have you been doing any electrical work to the car recently? Sounds like a wire is shorting out someplace.

if it keeps blowing fuses, the obvious answer is that there's too much power going to them. Have you changed fuses lately? are you sure the fuses you're replacing them with are the correct amperage? you could try upping the amperage a step and see how that works out for you but i wouldn't go any higher than a step or you could end up blowing something more important...

could be that your relay has gone bad and it's shorting out when it is engaged.

only time i changed the fuses is when they blew but im usuing the suggested amperage it says on the fuse cover if i take it up a notch what would be the best way to go up it to 15 or 20? becasue it recommends usuing a 10

The fuse is rated according the the gage and length of wiring in the circuit. It is a safety mechanism. Fix the problem, don't mask it with a higher rating fuse.

If it calls for a 10A fuse, put a 10A fuse in.

Well said, Locke. Fuses are there for your protection; don't mess with them like that...

I know the hazards and turn signals are definitely connected through a common pathway. I'm sure the brake lights connect to that pathway too somewhere along the line.

If you haven't changed anything recently, and you're not good with wiring, I would consider taking it to Satan. They're probably about the only ones who could diagnose and fix something like that.

Otherwise, just start carefully tracing wires back from the taillights and looking for burned, frayed, or shorted wires. You might also want to investigate the flasher unit behind the radio DIN slot, and hazard switch itself, and wiring around the fuse box. Good luck.

+1, sometimes your heater gets to places its not supposed too, just be glad your fuses keep popping, and that it should prevent the rest of wires from completely melting requiring you to re run all the lines.
