But if there are no DSMs in the junk yards, where would some of us buy stock parts to keep our cars out of the junk yard? Lol

Yeah I agree LOL. But u know we got people that total their car beyond repair so in that sense it's better to recycle the parts. What bothers me is seeing a completely running car get torn into pieces because of some go fast fantisy. once the time, money, affection, boredom take over its time to part/dump the car. Doing too much to the car and at the end face with dissapointment from some catastrophic faliures lead to remorse. Then it's time to do what ever he or she can to get rid of the car. I can't blaim anyone to want to take their car apart, our influences is all around us. We all just look at people that got a lot of stuff done to their car and then we envy them. What we need to understand is to realized what we are doing. To realized that we can get the same enjoyment out of our car as the people with a lot of nice things done to their cars. I like to see a nice restoration, clean ass ride that people look up to instead to find their motivations.

I some what agree with this. Yet this is not why these cars are ending up in junk yards. A lot of these cars were destroyed street raceing, drag raced till the tires fell off...etc. when someone does a ground up build and they dont finish. Someone will almost all of the time, step in and buy the shell. Picking up where the other fella. I am at the end of a very large build. I doubt if I did not finish this car, that my shell would end up in a junkyard. Here is my blog.

Kinda wish I had stayed 2ga, but oh well. Proud of my work so far, and much more to go.

Looks good as always Chris, you should show some engine pics too ;)

Hopefully by the end of July, I'll have some after pics of my engine. Will be a while for the exterior.

Trust me i've seen some of my friends who are hardcore dsm do this for a little cash. Perfectly good shell, it don't matter, and soon as they sicken tired they will just dump the car. Luckily i was able to buy his 6 bolt long block before he sold it to the junk yard. But, even that i've seen neglected perfectly good body dsm end up in the yards.

This current car i had, a kid who had it before me tore it up all around. Did not take car of it one bit. wiring was all f up, front end was in accident, rear end was gone, and i had to piece all this shit back together. It is so frustrating how much time i had to put into this car, and this car was probably at one time been perfectly fine. He could not afford the cost of engine transplant, or rebuilt the 6bolt and in the end he decide to dump it until i picked it up.

But man, you got a nice straight body to work with and your car doesn't look terribly that bad. I know you probably wish all the pieces were left untouched. I know you will restore her well and good luck with your build.
