I have a couple of questions. first i found a 96 talon tsi awd with 108,000 miles never modded. the guy is asking $4000 but i can get him down. the car is in good shape, there looks to be oil around the head and block. it could be oil maybe from the valve cover not sure. ive look at the back of the block and its alright. i replaced my hg on my 98 gst. so i was wondering how long hg last i thought around 120k or so? im just cautious of blowing headgasket i hate it. i checked to see it the rpms raise when i put in the clutch and it didnt and the engine is really quiet. the car wasnt modded so i hope its ok. i wanna use the talon for winter instead my 98 gst. so is it worth it, even if i have to put in a hg. its not hard and i can do it in 2 days with replaceing timing belt and water pump. the interior is in perfect shape too. oh yeah i forgot is the clutches harder to push in then gst and the shifter linkage feels stiffer to? and can i still have the center diff fixed when they recalled them before? let me know what you think.

I think your head gasket is supposed to be replaced every 100K miles or so. If the clutch is harder to push in and the linkage feels stiffer, then that probably means that the clutch and tranny in the Talon is better than in your Eclipse. I'd say it sounds like a good deal, a head gasket isn't a major thing either.

I've never heard that head gaskets are part of schedules maintenence.....

But I say that it sounds like decent deal if you know that car was taken good care of and the car is in decent shape...I say its a hell of a deal.

The turbos don't seem to have a head gasket problem. Don't bother it. Just do the belts and water pump. If that thing's not a total bucket, grab it. The transfer case replacement is perpetual, regardless of earlier replacements.

yeah the car is in really good condition the person is moving away so he needs to sell it. the timing belt was just changed like 10k ago so thats good. the funny thing is that he has the same exact car in the same caller just a 95 in his garage for sale but it puffs major smoke but that ones for sale to.

Just keep water in the motor and don't get it too hot and you will not have any problems with a blown head gasket
