Trenton,
Hello,

Just wondering what your opininons are , I have a 94 TSI AWD, with filter/3inch catback, boost controller, act2100 clutch and a little other things..

Im boosting about 16psi now (no logger to look for knock), but do you guys think I should run race gas on track day (Next friday, oct 7th) and up the boost to 18psi , on stock fuel system....

I really wanted more stuff for this date but I cant get it shipped in time and my pay day is that friday:( (ex, fuelpump, injectors, safc)

Anyways should i run race gas just to be safe, how much would it be just for enough for like 4 passes.

Thanks

Andrew

NO. No need risking potential damage to your car. If I were you, I'd turn down the boost to 14-15psi on stock fuel system to be safe. Run 93 octane and run it. Be safe man, not sorry just for a 1/2 sec.

If you have no way to monitor knock, then you may be overboosting now. Invest in a datalogger, turn the boost up in small increments and look for knock. Once you see three counts, you're at the edge of your tune and you'll need more fuel delivery to get you past that.

The point of race gas is to be able to run big timing and big boost numbers. If you really can't tell where you are in terms of a baseline, it's pointless and as Dan mentions above, you may hurt the motor. I agree, turn it down and be safe.
