I believe it's going bad, but I'm not sure---see what you think. When driving with the lights on, the car tries to stall everytime I stop. My idle is set at 1300, so I know it's not that. Also, my factory guages will dim periodically (aftermarket guages seem fine for some reason). Before anyone jumps on me for such high idle it's because the damn thing won't idle smoothly below that, I believe it has aftermarket cams but i'm unsure (they're stamped D1) Thanks in advance. :dsm: :thumb:

try testing it first

Test it by starting the car then while running remove the battery cable (just one would do). If it stops then its most likely the alternator if iit keeps running then probably the battery is bad. ALSO, check your alternator belt to make sure its not slipping which will cause the very same symptom you mentioned.

Have the alternator tested, if it turns out bad, have the battery tested as well (with load) to make sure it's good. A bad battery will kill an alternator and vice versa. Make sure both are working at their best if you don't want to have trouble with your charging system in the near future. DSM's charging system is very crappy IMO. :thumb:

I know my battery is good because it's brand new, although when I bought the car the battery was dead and would not hold a charge. I was gonna tear it all apart last week but we all had the stomach virus  . There are alot of bugs in the car right now, like when you turn on the lights the EGT gauge drops 300-400 degrees. There are alot of wiring issues I'll be tackling soon as well as adding cam gears, no-stretch timing belt, ACT 2600, lightweight flywheel, new axles, SAFC-2, Magnecore 10.5's and new plugs, and a new OEM front bumper. :dsm: :thumb:
