Should I buy this GSX?

Hi, I am going to go look at a DSM tomorrow. It sounds like a good deal to me but I want your opinion please. Details on the car:

1998 Mitsu Eclipse GSX
$11k, 63k miles, burgundy
It has an EVO III 16G turbo and an injen intake
Has aftermarket audio system
Just had $2k in routine maintenance done at a Mitsu dealer
"Body is in good condition, no major problems in the past except for the T25 failing, no signs of crankwalk as far as I can tell"

Only thing is it doesn't have a boost gauge and he said he didn't know how much boost it was running. Said he had turbo installed professionally and they set it at a "moderate" psi level. Not having a boost gauge scares me though.

So, What do you guys think?

If there is any other info you would think I should ask him about in person tomorrow please let me know ASAP. Thanks.

Just a couple of points for your information. Blue book in excellent condition is $8,335. If you think that plus the mods it has less the boost gauge then go for it. If not haggle. $2k in dealer maintanence would cost you $500 to do yourself so that is his problem that he spent that much. I would try to get him into the $9,500 to $10,000 range myself or not buy it unless I really wanted the car. I have been known to spend more on a car just because I had to have it then and there. I guess 98-99 GSXs are getting expensive since they are getting rare. There are/were a few 99 GSXs with 70-80k miles on sale on autotrader for $13-$14k and people keep buying them!

What does the $2k in routine maintenance include? All belts? water pump? starter? alternator? brakes? rotors?

11k are you fukcin serious? what is this world comming to? if yo udn't mind driving a good friend of mine is selling is just recently finished built 6bolt/50trim supporting mods 95 gsx so it even has the ecu if you want to do dsmlink for 10k. 11k man awd asking prices are getting out of control.

Sorry if I had already asked this question, I have been posting it in a few forums and I forgot which ones I already posted in.

The thing is though, up where I live in Minnesota $11k is cheap for an awd dsm. Anything under $10k will have like 125k+ miles on it. Believe it or not, there are automatics with 90k miles on them that go for over 10k up here in Minnesota.

But, I think I am going to wait for a color I like better, even though this one has the evo III turbo.

The car that I got. The guy orginally asked for $11,000. After two month, he dropped it to $10,000. Then he dropped it to $9,500. I finally bought it for $7,500. Man, what a deal! If you're patient, they will eventually sell it for the right price once they realize they're asking too much and no can buy it because they can't get the loan from the bank!!!!!!!!!!!
