Should I buy this Exhaust?

never knew ssauto makes exhaust now. There FMIC are great, turbo are well iffy but how can you mess up an exhaust? I'm sure the price will go up more than 250 try it out and let us know

It definetelly looks good... It would be great if we could see some pics of it instaled on the car. It's 3", so performance wise should allright. Only other thing it would be, how does it sound; Is it loud or not , does it fit (may sound silly but i dont like to buy a part and then have the problems with installation) ... Those are only things that you should look into it...

I wonder what thet little piece is for? lower right corner.

Hard to tell from that picture but it almost looks like a reducer much like the one that came with my Espelir catback to mate to a stock DP. Strange...

Hmm, looks like the reducer that some cat backs include so they can bolt up to the stock cat. Maybe they sell this as just a cat back instead of turbo back & the reducer is a mistake in the pic, or they include it so you can bolt up the stock DP if need be (maybe because of emissions testing). Personally I would never run a SS autochrome product but thats just me. Their turbo's and manifolds seem to be questionable quality, but their fmic kit is getting rave reviews. More then likely you will have to do some mods to get it to fit 100% which seems to be common with their product. That is a good price but I wonder how it will sound and how it will hold up in the long run. A good reputable exhaust system is only about $200 more, personally I would just save up the extra & be confident that it will fit/last/sound good.

Looks like a decent exhaust for the price. That would be cool if they would do a group buy like they did with the intercooler.

Doesn't look to bad but you neve know. Two obsevations though:

1. It says turbo back but I don't see any O2 bung so how will it mate up to the O2 housing? Or what will it mate up to?

2. There are 2 90 degree bends before the muffler where most performance exhausts try to get it as straight as possible. Could be a potential bottleneck but with 3" piping it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Try it out and let us know how it sounds, looks, and most importantly ease of install.

for some reason, it might be just me, but it looks like the piping changes diameters through the course of the exhaust. Also, that is a really misleading description, says it comes with d-pipe mid-pipe and catback, but then it states "THIS IS THE ENTIRE 3" TURBO CATBACK EXHAUST"

it looks like it could be to mate the 3'' downpipe to the stock o2 housing.

That would be my guess as well.
Interesting thoughts posted above though, I wonder if you caould use it to bolt the catback to the stock cat, as well as, the DP to the o2 housing.
Of course not everyone needs taht ability, but an interesting thought nonetheless.

It's possible it changes diameter throught but it looks more to me like a resonator-type object in the mid-pipe that gives that illusion. Maybe it is like the option on the dejon tool exhaust that can have that dinky half-assed bullet muffler put in the mid-section as well.

But we just won't know until someone gets it and lets us know!
Hopefully it does have an O2 bung as well.

Thank you guys for all your help. Right now I am the higest bidder on it. I am going to try and win it just to find out how it sounds, and bolts up. I will let you guys know if I win it or not. Thanks

One bit of advice, don't bid until there is less than 30 seconds left (if you have fast enough connection). Why pay more than you have to by bidding back and forth with other people. Yeah some people will call you a bid sniper, but who cares when it saves you money.

If you ask me it looks like before the flex its 2.5" or 2.75", then right after the flex it looks like its goes from either 2.5" or 2.75" to 3".

I'd be very interested in a turbo back at low cost, yes I wonder if ssac would do a group buy on this exhaust. At this rate my gsx is going to be a powered by ssac car LOL :|

I will contact them about a group buy and see what they say. Looking at the pictures I wasnt to sure about it. I dont know if they have the ports for the oxygen sensors of if we have to have them put on. I will contact them and find out about the group buy.

correct. That is how the shop built mine... it was easier for them and cheaper for me.

Unless there are crazy 90s all throughout, there won't be any noticable loss. Mine is straight as an arrow all the way back and S's around the rear diff.

When it comes to exhaust pipes, don't pay for a name. It is hard to get exhaust pipes wrong. That is a great price for a 3"SS turboback. I paid $630 for my 2.5" turboback (aluminized) about 5 yrs ago, and just paid $320 (parts and labor) for a custom 3" exhaust (aluminized, incl. flanged cat and testpipe).

The good thing about custom exhausts is that if the guy is good, he can get it tucked up under the car pretty good. My 3" doesn't hang as low as my 2.5" did.

I am running an SSAC O2 housing. I had to get it surfaced and one of the bolt holes enlarged for it to fit right. But for the price, I'd do it again.
