I could not honestly say as most would will not, because what all have you done to your rebuild? Have you rebuilt it to stock specs, more, less? We need details, or we can help... :idontknow: Another good question, Is have you rebuilt the transmission or just the engine? What kind of upgrades have you done, if so to the manual transmission? :aha: My simply recommendation is just a stock one, A (Sachs) will do, or something equivalent.....

well I have two 420a bone stock. The one I rebuilding now is going to be my DD and still stock motor. So what im saying is I just want to get stage one for little fun to feel little bit power for my DD that all.

Yeah just get a stock clutch. You don't need anything more. That 420a will not be burning up clutches anytime soon LOL.

Really though, go to Napa and get a Luk brand clutch. Theyre good clutches and are oem replacements.

is it cheaper than this stage 1 clutch?

Clutch kits don't add power. I'd do a stock clutch and save yourself the money, it's a 140hp car, you don't need a stiffer clutch.

Okay i change my mind. I will buy stock clutch. But your wrong, Clutch + flywheel does give you power of course.

i had a 420a eclipse when i was younger and at advaned auto it was about 320 for clutch, flywheel assembly. and throwout bearing. the clutch and flywheel are usually sold as one on those cars. im going off memory but i also had to remove 4 bolts kinda like an auto car to disconnect the tranny from motor they are kinda a wierd setup being standard

I've never bought one for a dsm. You could look it up on napa's website.. I bought one for my moms ford focus and it was only $130 for the full kit.

No. A clutch and flywheel do not give you power. A lighter flywheel will create less rotational weight and in theory make the car accelerate slightly faster. But you don't gain power.

No youre wrong buddy. Upgrading your clutch and flywheel only frees up the horsepower you already have. Also since no one else has mentioned this yet, your posts are a little hard to read, a little better proofreading goes a long way.

oh okay, i understand now. I already check on napa website and they want $250-$550. That is nut for 420a. im better off buying whole kit on ebay for $180.

Sorry mistated. A clutch doesnt free up the power but more of being able to put it to the ground. A lightened flywheel does free up power some by putting less drag on the roatation of engine such as removing balance shafts on 4g63s

okay now i know im wrong. Im just a rookie and learning little by little.

Its all good. Just wanted to clarify and back up the other guys statement since you stated he was wrong. Stock clutch is definately the best choice for a stock build on a 420. Turbo it and then youd be looking to upgrade to something with more clamping force so youd be able to transfer the power to the ground.

cool man, thank. My other 420a, Most likely im thinking im going to use that for turbo motor. So i can throw wisco piston, eagle rod, etc.

And Id save up for a good non modular clutch kit and flywheel for your turbo motor. Dont use any cheap clutch on the turbo. Had a brand new stock clutch in when I went turbo and it held for the first couple weeks then slipped all the time. Then put in an ebay XTD stage 1 that I had and began to slip after about 2 months.
