short throws

I have a fidanza short shifter in my eclipse rs. The actual height is the same. The throw feels to be the same. Honestly I dont like it so I kept it in my RS. For my GST though, I just decided to cut an inch and a half of the shaft out and just welded it back together. That seems to be the best way to go in my books. Sorry that I dont have any pics.

The BM is not much different than stock height either. A short throw shifter does not necessarily change the height, it changes the throw or travel so you have to move it less to change gears this can be done without making the lever actually shorter. If you just want a shorer shift lever your best bet is to have a stock one cut and welded.

i have a B&M short shifter and it is actually slightly shorter then the stock by MABE half an inch but the throw is much less. you can either have it at 35% shorter or 50% shorter. i just have it on 35% and its awsome. it actually made my shifts seem smoother. and the shifter is tighter as in less wiggle.
ide just get that and if you have the money and are feeling risky you can even cut it down a little bit and reweld it so it is shorter (not advised though in my opinion)

Just cut and reweld the stock shifter. IMO this is the best option. I did almost two inches producing excellent results....

sure. as i said it looks stock but it just shifts much faster. just a shorter throw.
its not the hight of the upper shaft that makes the shifter shorter. its the lower shaft if that makes sence. i found mine on craigslist for 40 bucks from a local guy and its in perfect condition. just look around for one and im sure you can find one cheap

I'm just having a coworker in our body shop at work cut and reweld mine. They are too tall stock, but none of the short throws really are shorter in height.

Thanks.
i've been looking at getting one, so i was curious what the finished result looked like. By the way you talk about it, it sounds perfect.
