shake at around 55

hey all,
k all stock, aside from a brand new built engine. half shafts look good. manual tranny.
have put about 50 miles on it so far. noticed a shake at around 5o-55 mph. had the front tires balanced. not much of a change.
im using prothanes all around.
that obviously makes me feel every vibration from the engine. do you think it could be my rear tires?
it happens accelerating, decelerating, out of gear coasting. anything around 55 and it shakes. has plenty of power so i dont think im hearing a miss.

ya, that and a new set of tires, preferably matching ones! just gotta get thru the break in period b4 i dump another penny into this car, then new tires and alignment. ill just deal with it for 1000 miles during break in. no big deal

because its at a specific speed i would guess its something rotating. check the balance on all your tires. check your wheel bearings, driveshaft and axleshafts. anything rotational and driveline.

Sounds like wheel bearings, been there in my bmw, costly.

Might seem dumb, but make sure your rims arent bent, i had a very similar problem from 55-60 there would be a shake and one of my rims was bent. Bought some stock gst rims and havent had the problem since.

Sounds like you have a busted band inside the tire, R/R the tire

ill check that too, 97tsi. prob just rotate tires from rear to front tomorrow to see if the problem follows and feels the same. if it does, prob alignment or wheel bearings. body has 199k miles on it so its very possible wheel bearings are bad. they r easy in an eclipse. btw ALL balljoints dont look good but also on the other hand they have no play in them. its cosmetic from what i can tell

You can just rub your hand around the tread and feel it, and as for the wheel bearing they usually make a loud roar while driving

Make sure all four tires are balanced and there are no bent rims. That's the first place to start if there's nothing else obvious.
