Sequential Tail lights

That's Azdave's car. It's long gone from his possesion now.

I talked to him a while ago and asked him if he was interested in making me a set.He was not.But he might be able to help you with parts and how to get it to work.

May just be my opinion here, but I think this as far as it gets from a weekend project LOL

You can probably get to him over on the HIDPlanet forums. He goes by the same name but you'll have to make an account to pm him there.

Thanks!! Wish it ran as good as it looked LOL ;) but ya I thought of him because we were talking about someone doing the new Dodge charger rear led lighting around the tails, and frank said he has done it only on a 3000gt and a couple eclipses! He also did a lot of sequential turns and tails! (hope he still does it!)

You can also go on YouTube and search FJM9898 and it should pop up a couple of videos he has done!

It would be a whole hell of a lot more work than you could do in a weekend.

You'd need an extra set of tails to modify if that car is your daily. You'd need to make custom PCBs, get a controller and program it. ETC ETC.

^^^only if materials/resources/time were free LOL

thats probably almost $1000 in materials, LEDS, silicone/semiconductors, Machine-made logic boards... and probably more.

Add in the time and energy to put it all together.

Then add the time to actually program it for all those functions

:banghead:

Its baller, but theres a reason why almost nothing like that exists.

Not a simple DIY, nor simple concept by any stretch of the imagination.

Well I dont actually care about all the cool effects, I'd just like it to be LED and sequential turn signals. All that other stuff is just useless because you can't use it when you are driving.

Or just don't drive your car for a few years like me.

Yes and no. There's certainly a lot of work/parts needed for a set up like Dave's but simple LED tail lights really aren't that expensive (still a couple hundred).

OP, I've got a post on this forum where I'm doing this to my Talon.

I guess I should have been more specific. I want the look that the all led tail light has, not just a bulb replacement. I am an engineering student, so maybe I will just figure out how to do this since this appears to be a pretty difficult task to find instructions for.

It will be next to impossible to find any instructions for, and for good reason. It's no quick/easy/cheap feat to accomplish. Here's a thread that might help you get started in the right direction, but don't expect anyone to hand hold you through the process. The people who have done this have put long, hard hours in and don't seem to (at the time) be willing to give everything away.

This would definitely be cool for plain tails and turn signals, the rest would only be used to show off parked. I'm sure someone with the know how could also make some change off doing this too.

Thank you! That is exactly what I was looking for!

I have registered and I am just waiting to be approved to ASEC. I'll put in a good word for you (I assume you are registered there).

He does Audi R8 bands in headlights, legit tsx hid retrofits, led blinkers (also sequential) fog lights. I know tho now that I look at my emails with him he hasn't done sequential things in a while (been a year since I last asked) because he needs a different blinker box or something along those lines.

But like I said ask him, he's very well knowledged and can probably tell you anything.

*Did you ever look up his YouTube videos I said to look at?? If not his go here - YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.. * if this link don't work it's because I'm on my iPad, just search fjm9898 if it don't!

Oh yeah those videos are helpful. If I can get someone to show me the electronic schematics for getting the leds to sequence I can probably make my own LED matrices for the 2G tail lights.
