Seperate gas tanks on 95 GSX

ok, check it out, the gas gauge on my 95 a/t gsx went out and the needle stopped rising regardless of the amount of gasoline in the tank, i replaced the fuel sending unit on the drivers side but i read from another thread that there are two fuel sending units? When i fill up, the gauge reads about half tank, could this be because the other fuel sending unit is bad, and since there rigged in series its causing the gauge to read only half a tank when full? Is the other unit the exact same as the one on the drivers side? Finally, where can i get one without having to get hustled by satan (mitsu d. )? Thanks for the help
