Check out this Craigslist posting - claims to have a Galant VR-4 engine...

1997 chrysler sebring

When I asked how it could have a v6 VR-4 motor, here was his reply:

Well it seems you have not done your research its a 6g73 motor found in the 93 mitsubishi galant vr4 ... It was installed in the car august 24 2008 by a.n.t japanese engines . The sebring was made by dsm witch was combination of chrysler and mitsubishi in the 80s and 90s ... I bet you also didnt know the 90s chrysler sebring and mitsubishi eclips are twins... Just sit and both but then check out their engine bays and you will see mitsubishi in both. You sould d your research before you try and prove a point by the way the car has been sold.

WTF

Just in case the ad expires or he takes it down:

Yeah, I HAD to call BS on the guy...

Here's my reply:

LOL!!!

The 93 JDM Galant VR-4 v6 came with the 2.0 6A12TT - it is you who need to do research. :ohdamn:

The Sebrings share the front end and interiors with late 90's Eclipses, but the only motor that they shared was the Dodge 420a 2.0 4 cylinder. Show me a stock Sebring with a 4G63... Second, show me a stock 89-99 Eclipse with a v6... You can't, neither exist. As yours was a 97, it could only have come with the 420a 2.0 Dodge motor or the 6G73 2.5 Mitsubishi motor. The 6G73 did not come in the VR-4, only the 4G63 and 6A12TT turbo motors came in the VR-4, with only the l4 4G63 turbo models coming to the states. The 2.5 liter twin turbo motor that was put in the 1996 model VR-4 was the 6A13TT and did not come to America either.

If it was presented to you as a Galant VR-4 motor, you were lied to.

If you still don't believe me, I'll make it easy for you, here's a few links:

I looked up the place that he said he had the work done at - a.n.t japanese engines - they have numerous complaints filed against them & seem pretty shady. So it looks like he got sold a load of crap & is probably pissy for me calling him on it when he tried to pass it on to others... :aha:

Hey I like how you hit him with pure facts instead of tossing insults like he did to you, nice roast man
