Hi. First post. Will the FTO INVECS-II Tiptronic Transmission and VR-4 Transmission mate seamlessly with 4G9 engines?

Also, what do you call the VR-2 transmissions?

Hey, honestly you may not find as much info on those model Mitsubishis here; you'd be better off asking in the Galant/3kGT forums.

Unfortunately the INVECS-II transmission only comes with the 2.5L V6 6A13TT engine on the Galant VR-4 and 6G72TT on the GTO/3000GT. The 4G9 series engine is an inline 4 which does not have the same bolt-up. I mean you can make a custom bellhousing adapter, and try finding the very rare 7 bolt 3000GT flywheel, but that'd be a lot of work. They mostly have 8 bolt flywheels.

A 'VR-2' is simply referring to JDM Galants/GTOs/3000GTs which still have the twin-turbo engines and INVECS tranny but are front-wheel drive only (hence the 2). Very few numbers were made of those models in that configuration and they are mostly still in Japan, New Zealand and a few other Asian countries.

By mentioning INVECS-II transmission, I meant the ones installed in Mitsubishi FTOs. Not the ones for 6A1 and 6G7 engines. Another question, will INVECS-III transmissions fit in 6A1 and 6G7 engines?
