Seafoam and exhaust manifold leak=Engine Fire!!

Yep; I was seafoamin' my DSM, needs to be done quite frequently as my oil return is somewhat restrictive, causing oil burning, which causes buildup on valves and knock and slow car.

So I was seafoamin it; stuck the hose down in the jug, and I wasn't slowing it down from suckin it in like I normally do. Sucked in about 2x2 oz. "hits" real quick. Started doing the usual smoking. But this time, my exhaust manifold/turbo caught on fire! Apparently those bolts turbo to exhaust manifold aren't all tight enough, and the liquid itself came out thru the exhaust valves to the manifold turbo (I am guessing??), and caught fire! Shit!

I called the 911, as I had nothing to put it out with. Within 5 minutes, the seafoam burned off, and it was fine. Kinda scary, I thought it was a gonna fer sure this time!

Fire truck came, and they left. I let it cool off, and drove the rest out of it, it runs great

I just want to let people know to be carefu; it's a risk I was never aware of; figures I'd be the first idiot in the whole internet to do it!

I would have done the cell phone video, but was too busy being scared my car was gonna explode!

PS I actually use MMO, not seafoam.

Always good to have a A/B/C extginguisher in the car with you or in the garge. You can get on at wal-mart for $25 bucks. Be safe out there man! Nice 1gb

Yes I want to buy one for every car we own. Of course I need to fix my oil return line so I won't have the carbon buildup anyway..
