Alright im looking for help. There is a loud scraping noise that comes from my tranny. Its been there since i got a new clutch put in more then a year ago. It only makes the noise when i first start the car and eventually goes away when the car warms up.The noise is louder when i first start the car, when it is colder outside. It also goes away if you hold the clutch in.The noise actually makes the transmission vibrate.Any help would be great.

Bad throw-out bearing maybe. have you ever dropped your tranny and investigated? when i hear the words "scrapping and tranny" in the same sentence, i all kinds of expensive disasters go through my mind. i think its probably a bad throwout bearing, but I'm not positive.:dsm:

yeh i was thinking it could be the throw out bearing. If it was anything else it would have been a disaster by now.And dropping the transmission...well i guess ill just have to do it. It would b the first time i do it.

its not that hard really, i just got done doing my clutch for the first time in the driveway. its really easy, just alot of small easy jobs. but if you do it, put all the bolts in a bag and label them. i did not do that and spent forever looking through a box of bolts. and research if you never took out a transmission. i searched for two days before i started just so i knew what was going to happen. i got a couple good refrence video and a good tutorial, but also get a haynes manual too.
