Up for sale is a Kinetic Motorsport-built SBR G50 DSM bolt-on turbo. This is basically a Garrett T04E50 compressor (53.8/76mm) mated to a TA34 (65/56.5mm) turbine in a DSM bolt-on turbine housing. It will bolt directly to any DSM-flanged manifold, and is capable of airflow in the lower 50 lb/min range while spooling relatively quick. This is the same compressor wheel used on FP Old-School DSM Green turbochargers.
The latest version of these turbos were built for SBR by Kinetic Motorsport using a Rotomaster CHRA. I have replaced the CHRA with a new one equivalent to the quality of the Rotomaster CHRA it originally came with in order to breathe new life into the unit and give someone an opportunity to have a stout 400-450whp turbo at a great price.
The turbo has a standard T04E-style compressor cover (3" inlet, 2" outlet). The turbine housing is a recast 7cm2 MHI housing that is made to fit a Garrett turbocharger with a stage 3 TA34 turbine. There are no cracks, stripped holes, or broken bolts of any kind in the turbine housing. The bearing housing is oil-only with a standard Garrett T3 drain flange. I'm including a 4AN oil feed fitting but you will need your own oil drain flange/fittings and lines for this turbo- none are supplied.
This turbo is set up for an external gate on the o2 housing and cannot be reconfigured to be internally-gated. You must be able to run an o2 housing-mounted external wastegate to use this turbo.
Proper oil supply and drainage is crucial. This turbo must be supplied with no less than 35psi and no more than 70psi of oil pressure under load or you risk causing oil-related damage to the turbo for which I will not accept responsibility. Use of the included oil feed fitting is highly recommended. The oil drain must be as straight as possible, have no kinks, and must not dip below the fitting on the oil pan at any point. The use of a high-ZDDP racing oil is also recommended in order to protect the turbo against thrust wear. Any type of oil-related damage will not be covered under warranty repair.
Please note that on a 1G you may need to trim the front roll stop bracket to gain adequate clearance for the oil drain line to fit properly without kinking while keeping the center housing clocked within 10 degrees of level for optimal drainage. You're not going to pull this off installing on a Sunday afternoon using nothing but a 3/8" ratchet set from Harbor Freight....so if this is out of your league, don't plan on buying this turbo. I guess what I'm trying to say is professional installation in highly-recommended.
This turbo once retailed for $679 plus shipping on SBR's website...the price for this basically-new unit is just $450 shipped. Shipping will be to the lower 48 states ONLY- I will not ship to Canada or Internationally.
Paypal, money order, or cashiers check is accepted; the buyer will be responsible for any fees associated with submitting / receiving the payment. All interested parties can contact me via Private Message here on Tuners or via email at [email protected]. Priority given by order of contact.
