I was wondering who has one or the other and which one was easier to install, they are about the same price so I am trying to decide what to get out of the 2. I can tell the sbr is bigger but looks like more of a pain to install.

i personally am going with dejon race kit in about a week :D the sbr core is super tall! dejon is tried and true. never really here negatives besides getting stingy with couplers. piping is aluminized steel. thats it. performance is very solid from everyone i know that has it. which is why im choosing them really soon.plus shipping is dirt cheap which is a plus :)

I think the RNR kit has the best design for flow and cooling.

BUT, of those 2 I would take the dejontool racing. Check my profile, I do alot of business with them and they haven't let me down yet. :thumb:

Not one of the options you listed, so please ignore me if you are annoyed by my comments, but why not spend the extra ~50 dollars and get the AGP kit? I know, it's a shameless plug as I have one but who can argue with...

Best of luck with whatever decision you make. I'm sure you'll be happy in the end.

Thanks,

Damn, that agp kit looks pretty damn good. I might check that one out.

Whoops, I'm stupid ... just realized that you have a '90, which is a 1G, which they currently don't have a kit for. My mistake.

Although you may want to call them as I believe there may be a 1G in the works with similar quality.

Anyhow, good luck and sorry for the stupid post (I'll pay better attention next time).

Actually Its for a 98 gst. I had a 90 but I am parting it out. I need to change my profile. Good looking out man.

Well I just got my Dejon street FMIC today! I would have liked a big FMIC but cost an especially cutting the front bumper "quite a lot" was not something I wanted to do. I am running a 50 trim and Dave @ Dejon said the street IC would supprt the 50 trim turbo to 18 PSI. I am looking into alcohol injection as I have read it's good for 2-3 PSI extra. The Buick Grand national people are big into the alcohol injection and they claim a 5-10 PSI increase is possible!! I am also going to header wrap my pipes from the IC exit on up to the intake. I have a Dejon UICipe with the GM MAF-Translator and it(the street pipes) will bolt to it which was also part of my decision. The Dejon is a Bar & Pate IC which is 60% more efficient than tube and fin. Spearco uses bar & plate.
I also like Dejon's quick shipment and yes the shipping was very reasonable, $7. from Ohio to me in central, N.Y. for 15+ pounds. I think that the $7. is a flat rate to the lower 48 but check there site www.dejontool.com
the pipes are powder coated to your choice of at least 6 colors too. Mark
PS: The big "RACE" FMIC is on sale for $599. along with a 50 rebate if you purchase the pipes together with the core, what a deal!!

i just installed the dejon tool race fmic on my 98 awd. Install was not too bad. The hardest part was cutting the hole for the upper pipe to go thru and getting the fmic to sit right. I am satisfied with the results and after doing third gear pulls back to back....not even 1/4 of the driver side of the intercooler is hot so cooling is definitely achieved. i too was looking at the sbr kit but a friend of mine talked me into the dejon tool. Another thing, while installing the fmic, i had some difficulties and called Dave at Dejon at like 11pm and he still answered and helped out. All i hear is "damn dats a big cooler" it measures 35x11x3 inlcuding end tanks. Good luck with ur choice.

I have the dejon race FMIC and I couldn't be happier. I think it's just as big as the sbr. THis thing is huge! Here is a crappy picture of it that I took with my cell phone. I should get some better pics soon.

Sk8er07999 I see you cut away a section of your bumper on the top side to expose the IC to moving air. I'm glad that such a modification works for you buy I went with the street Dejon FMIC to avoid losing or damaging my AC.
Cutting the bumper & the cover like you did is not an option for me. I did not sheck your mod list and apologize. Would let us know what turbo you are running?
On another note Dave @ Dejon said I wold have to remove my bumper to do the install of the street version. So far I have the IC mounted. Dave has it set so it hangs right in the bumper opening in order to utilze all he can with a 7" high core. I also have the lower pipe that runs around the bumper to the lower pipe that attaches to the turbo clamped onto the IC.
Today it's getting the lower pipe that will get the 50 trim's outlet clamped to this lower pipe I got installed yesterday. If conditions allow I will see if mounting he upper pipe is possible. Mark

I was on the 14b until I blew it a few weeks ago after a visit to the track. On friday I am ordering the PTE GT32E. Thats pay day

hey G S X , got any pictures of the pipe routing?
I'm considering the AGP kit and want to know how it clears the radiator, any cutting involved in the radiator support and such...

Yes, in order to achieve the shortest routing possible a small 2.5" hole will need be cut where the overflow tank currently resides. Not a big deal at all, and makes mounting simple and clean.

Oh, the AGP kit is the only kit I know of that allows for use of the stock fans (by far most efficient) without any modifications.

Hope this helps.

Mine was pretty hard to install. Didn't know I would be cutting holes in shit. Also I have no bumper support at all. I recomend trying to cut yours or else you will only have two bolts holding your front bumper on. Also I ordered a skinny fan but I didn't like it so I just cut the stock one up in order for it to clear the lower intercooler piping. Works great and the temp gauge barely ever makes it to half way even in super hot weather in stop and go traffic. Measurements on the dejontool int are, "Made from a new 28"wide x 10.8"hi x 3"thk side to side flow core. End tanks are 1/8" thk aluminum. Inlet and outlet are 2 1/2"dia." The SBR kit is, "Our core, measuring 24" long, 12" high and 3.5" wide"

Well I finished the instalation of the Dejon street FMIC last night. I did not remove the bumper. There were a couple spots requiring that my hands and forearms got banged up some but NOT having to remove the bumper was worth it! I have an AGP RS49 50 trim and am looking for 18 PSI. I've got 15-16 tuned pretty good, a bit better and I will go for 18 PSI!
If anyone feels like I did and does not want to lose their AC or cut teir bumper this FMIC isa good deal. The only modification I did was to remove the power steering loop and replace it with 4' of fuel line and then I wrapped it behind the drivers headlight. being rubber i can find the best position for it as I go along. mark
