Should tell EDM to remove the spark plug from cylinder 1 and put something long and thin down into the cylinder until you can feel the top of the piston. Then slowly rotate the engine by the crank pulley CLOCKWISE until he feels the piston reach the top of its travel. When it gets close, line up the timing marks on the cam gears.
