Because I want to make sure everything is within spec before putting it back together. I bought the block from a guy on here and he said it should just need honing but we know how much we can trust people these days. And the crank has 180k on it. And I want to make sure the deck is flat before assembling.

Knows I probably could..But Would rather pay a machine shop to do it for me, at least on my first engine..Then after that It would be trial and error, and if I had my first motor built for me..I could always go back to that one if I did something wrong..

apparently has two engines already..Man That makes me wish I didn't sell my talon..Cause thats what I actually bought it for was to have a spare engine to build..And extra parts..
