Hey EDM, did I remember you saying you have 5.1 sound with your DVD player and you want your blueray to tap into it? I had the same issue, I used something similar to this...

The DVD player is Digital coaxial, analog (S/PDIF) is not as good - to the Blueray (Toslink).

I'm sure there are other ways, but this is suppose to keep sound degredation to a minimum. Hope you get it going man, blueray is the best with 5.1.
