Knows you might want to research it to be sure. I'm not sure if what they sell at the fish stores is any different. I had a rather large piece in my 100 gallon tank years ago and never had a PH problem. I usually buy a small sandstone for my smaller tanks and have never had a PH problem there either.
-Might want to know I just read a couple of threads, driftwood will not make a significant PH change. It looks like sandstone will raise PH, while limestone shingles or sand will stablize it.
