I either messed royally and now have to pull the trans off again or I did exactly what I wanted to. Ok me and my friend get the tans off and everything and we swap clutch and flywheel. Now we are both pretty knowlegable but this is our first clutch/flywheel swap. We start botling the trans up just for the day like we only put on enough to hold it up for the night untill we could come and finish up tomorrow guess what I find on the ground. THROWOUT BEARING. So i'm like WTF. Here is where you guys save my ass. I did some reasearch and I don't want to go with an aftermarket metal TOB anyway cause of the comon engagement noise from the metal to metal, but will the one that was on ther be ok I doubt it is that old at all guy before me had a rebuild. It didn't make any engagement noises or do anything bad before i took everything apart just had a fried clutch from notorious AWD launches. Now here is another big thing if i forgot to change it would it fall off or would it still be on there cause i was worried that i put the trans on w/o one at all is that even possible. Will the trans even go one right w/o it. Help me out here guys. SOS

I just called my friend the old TOB IS still on there we never took it off so now the ? is how am I with the stock/OEM TOB with new clutch and flywheel.

Bah, if it doesn't make noise it will be fine.

Also, I have used the metal TOB twice now on my car over the last 2 years and its fine. Just put lots of lube on the shaft when you put it on if you ever use it.

Yeah and the TOB falling off is no biggie, its only held on by that same wire clip and you prolly just knocked it off. Reuse the stocker thats what i did and everyone eles i know did.
