Ok you can look at my profile , basicly evo 3 16G with stocker injectors , 190 rewire FP. Now the car is running really lean and has been for a little. I have the SAFC set to defult settings cause i dont totally understand it yet enough to mess with it. Even at WOT it doesnt move out of lean. Now i am not 100% sure if that reading is correct cause i keep getting the damn 02 CELS cause i have no cat and rear 02 disconnected from xhaust(just hanging). Should i just disconnect my AF guage and use the SAFC to get the numbers ? (didn't want to hook up both). Or Now i am no expert but i am sure giving it a little more fuel will lean the car out right ?

Also what is the best advise to measure knock (i cant afford DSMLink :( )

Dont flam i an totally reading up on the SAFC and all that just want to post this for peace of mind

First off, what are you using to measure rich/lean conditions? If you are using a Air Fuel meter that reads off the stock 02 sensor it is prolly incorrect. They usually dont read right or are precise enough for you to tune with. Wide bands are the way to go. But I know they are expensive and Im not telling you to go get one or anything like that. We just need a little more to go off of than "My car is running lean" The AFC is not gonna help you much with stocker injectors. With the fuel pump in there you should be running on the rich side. Unless you have the boost cranked up.
Post with some more info so we can answer better. :thumb:

Untill then turn down your boost. That is the only thing I would suggest if you try to add fuel you will more than likely hit fuel cut. You can set your low, high throttle points to 25% on the low and 75% on the high...but leave all your Ne points at zero.

Oh and borrow a logger to see what else is going on that ECU.

oh yeah sorry forgot to post boost. I am only running 10 psi with NO SPIKE at all. I just printed a tuning guide "how SAFC works" so i am learning still. Yeah i am use the auto meter AFC to read lean. The reason i wasnt sure if its reading right it cause of what i said before. Sometims when i get the CEL the damn thing like turns off. I then reset with my palm and then the red lights stay lower and never reach rich AT ALL..

p.s

i am also lerning with the logger. I can reset codes yeah ! hahah
well i logged a pull just having problems reading the data is. In timing bad ? meaning is that timing being pulled from the car ?

i mean for my purpose , daily driver and all , isnt it better to run a little on the rich side then lean......

Haveing the rear 02 taken out that shouldnt effect my readings right ? As i understand it the 02 readings come from the fron 02 (the more inportant one)

Taken out as in removing it? You'll throw a CEL.

get a logger so you can see when you are knocking and when you arent... if you are knocking at a certain rpm then you add more fuel until you arent knocking and if you are running too rich then take away fuel until you knock, then raise it a little so you are on the border line of knock and no knock... thats where you make the most power.. you could be running too rich or too lean... without an accurate measurement of knock you wont know and its only specifc for your car b/c everyone's cars are different...

this is a 2G you cannot pull knock without DSMLink

Yes but with the logger you can see weird dips in your timing curve when you get used to reading it.

yeah i am checking that out right now. My palm is not working right . Its not transfering files to my PC . You ever notice that after owning a DSM that when things dont work you dont get as mad anymore cause you are so use to it !
