I just got my hands on a few things two are an aem wb and a sacf ii,
My set up is:
e316g 34mm flapper
650 inj
190 lph re-wired
full exhaust
k/n filter
fmic
all hard pipe
mbc
hks bov

I just about have everything installed I read and read tons of stuff and have a decent idea on all of the wiring I have wired up many things in the past. My concern is the opt blu wire mod and something I was told. I was told to run the signal output from the wb to the safc to help with tuning like an auto tune like with certain powercommaders for a motor cycle? I will leave the knock wire alone thus I'd want my ecu to do its job. Also I got the safc from some one using the same set up will the memory still be on the device would it be safe to use what they had and tune it up or dn because I know every dsm has its own unique differences even on identical cars. Thanks

If the person you bought the SAFC from didn't zero the sliders then all his settings should be on there, the only way they'd even be close though is if he was running the same injectors. Even then, like you said, all cars all different so even if the injectors are identical you'd still end up making a few changes here and there to get things right.

Heres the SAFC Pin out I came up with after looking a the 2g ECU pinout, just bounce it off your write up for correctiveness.

From the SAFC TO the ECU connector
  • 12V Signal (RED) - Tap into Pin 12 or 25 (RED)
  • Ground 1 (BROWN) - Tap into Pin 13 or 26 (BLACK)
  • Ground 2 (BLACK) - Tap into the same wire (13 or 26) that you did for the BROWN wire coming off the SAFC just further away from the ECU harness. ITS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO IT FURTHER UP THE WIRE THAN THE BROWN ONE, AT LEAST 10" TO 12" APART.
  • RPM Signal (GREEN) - Tap into Pin 58 (WHITE)
  • Throttle Pos (GRAY) - Tap into Pin 84 (BROWN/RED)
  • Knock Sensor (PURPLE) - Tap into Pin 78 (WHITE)
  • A/F to ECU (PINK) - CUT wire going into Pin 10 (YELLOW/BLUE) appox. 3" from the connector. Then tap this wire into the connector side of the cut wire...
  • A/F to Sensor (ORANGE) - Tap into the harness side of the (YELLOW/BLUE) wire you just cut.

When your tapping into a wire at the ECU be sure to do it a few inches back from the connector. I also recommend soldering/heat shrinking ALL your connections since the last thing you want is a bad signal coming into the ECU when your WOT. Use this 2g ECU pin out diagram of the ECU with wire colors and pin numbers to follow along with the above info I gave you.

Thanks for breaking it down for me its easier to read than pages upon pages. I got the inj, wb, and safc from the same car. I have printed out both of the links you posted, So basically nothing from the wide band goes to the safc then? So when I key on and go through and check the values then start it up and see how it does.

Thats correct, nothing from the wideband is wired into the SAFC at all. You really need a logger to tune your car correctly using an SAFC but I'm sure your car will start and idle fine with the previous owners settings.

Thanks I appreciate the help, I cant get a logger at the moment, its nexted on my list. So since nothing goes from th wb to the safc i can go :beatentodeath: my buddys friend dang civic owners. :ohdamn:

If i was to get a logger would anything from the wb or safc go to it or is that something that plugs into the obd2 port?

The logger plugs directly into your OBD II port so theres no additional wiring at all, I guess it is possible though to "log" your wideband using your logger but it would be a voltage reading not a AFR and you'd wire it into your ECU. Once you do get a logger and are interested in logging your wideband shoot me a PM or start a different thread and I'll tell you how to do it.

Ok will do(may need help understanding the safc, its laying on my desk still), I plan to have everything going by the wk end. thanks again. I check the classifieds daily to see whats avail.
