I know the steps required to hook up my SAFC II in my car but I am wondering how others have made the actual connections-ie did you solder them in, splice them in with butt connectors or have any of you used the crimp on connectors with a spade terminal(like the connection you do for a maft on the cas). I just wanted to know before I hook mine up and do it wrong or the hard way. Thanks alot. Travis

soldering the connections, and then taping the outside is the best way to do it. soldering will hold the wires tight and keep them together. Still take precautions though when handling the ECU just so that you dont end up braking something. Carefull is better than careless. Good luck buddy.

Im in the middle of doin mine...

But Im getting all the wires stripped where I need them.
Then just taping the connecting wires on.
Gonna test it, make sure everything works ok.
Then when it does, Im gonna go back and solder them together. Then tape as mentioned.

Can solder right away, but if something is wrong, its more of a pain to undo and such. OR at least the way I look at it... I dont like sitting in wierd positions soldering wires when it will such need to come back off.....

But ya. You always run the risk of the tape coming off, or the wire pulling out. So.
When it comes to your ecu, the engine, and everything like that, dont risk it. Just solder it.

trust me and solder them best to solder and use heatshrink any kind of connector will wiggle loose over time in my own experience. removing the ecu a couple of times and wires will start coming undone then your car will run like crap or not at all. only takes a little longer to solder it in and its worth every second.
