hey I have a 98 rs with the 420a motor I picked up a safc for a really good price! Im wanting to install it but im not sure what I should set my high and low throttle settings for now intell I get it tuned and dyno! So my question is what would be a safe setting to have for my high and low throttle setting??? my fuel mods are a

wallbro 255 fuel pump
ajustable fuel pressure regulator
stock automatic injectors

please help guys

I know that the safc isn't to supportive on the 420a cus are motors dont have a mas sensor we have the map sensor.

Yeah, you need a way to monitor your Air/fuel ratio first...........A wideband kit will do the trick. After you install that, you just adjust your HI settings to obtain the desired A/F ratio. You monitor your A/F ratio when your at WOT.................11.3-11.8 is pretty lean, I would say go 10:1-10.5:1 to be safe....

Just so you know, the primary purpose of the AFC is to compensate for larger fuel injectors, which you don't have, but the AFC can still be used to make some difference since you have a fuel pump and FPR....

HE is not running a turbo car. 10:1-10.5:1 is WAY to rich. With a na car you can go a little higher with the A/F raito the dont knock as bad as turbo cars. Like 12:1-12.5:1 would be safe but you might go higher than that and get a little more power. Just going to take some playing with it.

k thanxs but my main question is what percent should i start off with in the high and low throttle settings that would be safe to beggin the tuning?

ill be getting a wideband soon. right now im just gonna be watchin my autometer air/fuel gauge

For a turbo its is anywhere between 20/60 - 30/80 I'd say go with something like 20/60 for the NA. RRE has an article about this but its for turbos.
