rust underbody

Hello guys I've just got my first Turbo Talon I basically traded a 420a straight up for it, my questions are I noticed a little rust underneath. The car and under the hood, can anybody tell me what I should do? also I seem to have a little oil leak and a small squeek when I start it for maybe about 4 seconds any help would be appreciated I've attached some pics

There's not much you can do about that rust IMHO. Salted Canada winter roads will continue to rust those areas. You can try to scrape them down and clean and paint those areas, but, I bet winter continues the rust.
Oil leak? Fix it. =P
The squeak? Alternator/power steering belt no doubt.

For the rust issue I give my car a great wash and put rust guard on most of the undercarriage every summer and fall. Check to see if your drive belt is loose and if it isn't pour some hot soapy water on the belt with the car running.

Is it a difficult repair to the common shock tower rust? Or is that an issue worth looking for a clean shell over?

Strut towers can be repaired. Problem is if they are in bad shape, chances are there is more rust present. check the rest of the car out and make sure the underbody and frame rails aren't rusted out.

For the shock tower all you have to do is sand off the rust and hope that it hasn't reached the body. Then all you have to do is paint the sanded area and put some clear coat on it. For the under body rust there isn't really anything that you can do except clean it and keep an eye out whenever parts need replaced. For the squeak should be pretty easy my car did the same thing just adjusted the alternator and gone it was. They sometimes get squeaky because its all being manual and no automatic tensioners. Last for the oil leak yeah just find the origin and fix
