I installed a walbro fuel pump a while back and had no initial problems, however all of a sudden the fuel pressure started to *drop* as the car made boost (this is why we all have gauges right?
). I pull the fuel pump assembly out tonight and the strainer is clogged full of what looks like rust - Here is a pic compared to the stock strainer, which was in there before, it's spotless:
I doubt that the new pump was in the car more than a month - and it has maybe 100 miles on it. Here's a pic looking into the gas tank - there is a bit of rust floating around in there, but why would the walbro strainer get clogged to hell by it, and the stock strainer be unaffected? Is the walbro strainer just a POS? That rust couldn't have just built up in there overnight!
Do I need to siphon out all this crap? All help/suggestions appreciated!
