For the last week the Talon's been running too cold... on my 30 minute commute the car never gets past the 25% mark. It's probably just the thermostat stuck open, but it got me curious if there's any drawback to running the car that cold— besides the heater taking forever to warm up? I'll replace the thermostat this weekend, but I'm just curious.

your thermostat could be stuck open. At $13 max, I would say replace it. Higher gas consumption would be a problem, if the car thinks its cold, it will dump more fuel to warm it up and since its not getting warm, you would keep running a little richer.

i wouldnt say any drawbacks... and as for dumping more fuel, if it did (which i dont think it does) i was say it wouldnt be that much to be noticable for MPG

Of course there are drawbacks. The enigne was not designed to operate anywhere near is maximum capacity at such low operating temps. Don't run it hard until you get it fixed.
