Well i swapped my t-25 for a 50 trim external setup and I have had nothing but problems so far. First the wastegate was messed up that I got with it and I just replaced it last week (it arrived today). I install everything correctly and check everything before taking it for a test drive. I get out on the road and open it up a little bit only to find i still have no boost. I have checked for leaks and found 1 little leak in the manifold and fixed that. Went for another test drive and still found no boost all the way to redline up through 3rd. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Check to make sure the compressor wheel is spinning. Are you getting ANY change in boost pressure; does the boost gauge needle go to 0 and stay, does it approach 0, does it go above it?

It like goes from 20-22 vac to 0 and stops on a dime. I assume it is spinning to get from 20 to 0, any idea what could cause this?

It sounds like the wastegate is blowing open. What is the spring pressure on the external gate? What kind of gate is it? How are your boost control vacuum lines arranged?

Its a 7spi spring in a Godspeed wastegate, no boost controller, but the vac lines are hooked up correctly. Also the wastegate didn't open at all. I have an open wastegate but it was very quiet and never opened. Keep the ideas coming, I'm pulling my hair out.

Is the wastegate closed?

Take it off and apply pressure to it to see it open.

Your turbo will not play nice if it cant see any exhaust.

Out of curiosity, where is the wastegate mounted? O2 housing? Turbo collector? Manifold?

its attached to the manifold, and it will open freely by your hand and is not leaking at all, even under throttle. The wastegate is on an arm extended from the manifold. The turbo spins freely and there are no exhaust leaks, I have been checking that stuff all day.

If anybody had anymore ideas, I should hopefully be able to get some wrench time in tomorrow and get this thing worked out. I have been without boost (or money) for about a month and a half now, and its driving me crazy. Any easy checks to do on it or anything?

Does the wastegate have two holes forvacuum lines like the tial's do?

I have it hooked to the bottom most hole, should it go to the one right above it?

Here is a picture of how it is setup, except it has the nipples coming out of it now.

It should be on the bottom one if it is like the tial's. I was just making sure it wasn't on the top one.

ok on the turbo itself is there a wastegate flapper? if so is it welded shut? i had the same probelm all the sudden i had no boost i took the 02 hosuing off the flapper broke free had it welded again no issues

Didn't think it ever had an internal gate on it (as it was supposed to be brand new and didn't have one, but i can check and make sure).

have you checked the turbo for play since you ran it alittle ? it sounds as if the wastegate is stuck open. eaither you have an internal gate and its coming right open or your external is opening you shouldnt be able to push it open with your hands... good luck keep us updated

You can push it open with your hands but it takes tremendous effort. I intend on checking everything I can on it tomorrow, because I have school at night (where I am now) and work during the day (but I get off early tomorrow). Hopefully I can figure something out and let you guys know what it is. Thanks again for all the suggestions and if you think of something else, just let me know.
